You can make this recipe over and over again because it's so versatile. Depending on your preference you can add in sauteed shrimp, chicken, scallops, lobster, peas, mushrooms, etc. Our favorite is to add in shrimp (we eat a lot of seafood).
Ingredients:
12 ounces fettuccine
1 stick butter
2 cups (1 pint) heavy cream
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 1/2 cups grated Parmesan cheese
Directions
Cook fettuccine according to package directions; drain.
Meanwhile, in a large skillet, melt butter over medium-low heat. Add heavy cream and pepper; cook 6 to 8 minutes, or until hot and well blended, stirring constantly.
Stir in cheese and simmer on low for 6 to 7 minutes, or until sauce is thickened. Pour sauce over fettuccine; toss with protein of choice and serve.
To make sauteed shrimp while the pasta and sauce is cooking, peel and de-vein fresh shrimp. In a medium skillet saute shrimp with 2 tbsp butter, salt and minced garlic on medium skillet.
